Detailed Itinerary

 

Day 01:: Arrive Ahmedabad

Arrive in Ahmedabad, a UNESCO World Heritage City and hub of intellectual and artistic heritage. Known for its museums, galleries, and top universities, the city is bustling yet rich in culture. Enjoy a special Gujarati thali dinner at the charming “Agashiye” restaurant.

 

Day 02:: Ahmedabad

Embark on an early morning heritage walk through Ahmedabad's old city, exploring the vibrant Pols, where Jains, Hindus, and Muslims live in close-knit communities. After visiting the Calico Museum, Gandhi Ashram, and historical mosques, capture the city's bustling markets in the evening.

Day 03:: Ahmedabad- Poshina (By surface approx. 180 Kms/04 Hrs)

After breakfast, drive to Poshina, stopping at Adlaj Vav, an intricately carved five-story stepwell once vital for water and rituals.

Arrive in Poshina, check in at Darbargarh Palace, and explore the local market, Shiva temple, and tribal craftsmanship in the afternoon.

Day 04:: Poshina

Spend the day photographing Bhil and Garasia tribal settlements. Visit Bhil villages in the northeast, known for terracotta armies and wedding paintings. In the afternoon, explore the colorful Garasia tribe and Rabari women in unique attire. Conclude with a royal textile and jewelry tour at Darbargarh Palace.

Day 05:: Poshina-Patan-Modhera-Rann of Kutch (Dasada) (By surface approx. 210 Kms/05 Hrs)

After breakfast, drive to Dasada, visiting Patan, famous for Hindu-Jain architecture and Rani-ki-Vav stepwell. Explore Modhera Sun Temple, built in 1026 AD. Continue to Dasada, check in, and discover the unique Rann landscape, home to the Asiatic Wild Ass and wildlife.

Day 06:: Rann of Kutch (Dasada)-Bhuj (By surface approx. 270 Kms/05 Hrs)

Morning jeep excursion to the Rann, where we’ll see salt workers, Indian Wild Ass, and visit Rabari and Mir villages. Explore the unique wildlife and tribes of the Little Rann.

In the afternoon, drive to Bhuj, possibly spotting nomadic Kutchi Rabaris.

Day 07-08:: Bhuj

Over two full days, explore north and south tribal villages known for embroidery and artwork. Visit the Banni grasslands, the largest natural grassland in India, home to unique tribes with distinct costumes and crafts.

Day 09:: Bhuj-Muli (By surface approx. 235 Kms/05 Hrs)

After breakfast, drive to Muli, stopping at Bhujodi to see shawl weaving by the Vankar community and Ajrakpur for block printing with natural dyes. Continue to Muli, check-in at Ambika Niwas Palace, and explore Ikkat, Tangaliya, and local villages. Attend the evening Aarti ceremony.

Day 10:: Muli-Sasan Gir (By surface approx. 236 Kms/05 Hrs)

After breakfast, drive to Sasan Gir, check-in to the hotel. Gir is home to the Asiatic Lion and large leopard populations. The sanctuary, initiated in 1972, is well-protected. In the afternoon, enjoy a jeep safari for wildlife viewing.

Day 11:: Sasan Gir

Day 12:: Sasan Gir-Palitana (By surface approx. 175 Kms/4.5 Hrs)

Morning safari into the national park for wildlife viewing. 

After lunch, drive to Palitana. On arrival, check in at the hotel.

Day 13:: Palitana- Jambughoda (By surface approx. 310 Kms/07 Hrs)

Early morning climb to the world-famous Palitana Jain Temple, located atop Shatrunjaya Hill with 3,000+ steps. The temple complex, with 863 Jain temples, is a major pilgrimage site. Afterward, drive to Jambughoda,

Day 14:: Jambughoda – Kawant – Jambughoda (03 hours round trip)

After breakfast, drive to Kawant to photograph the vibrant Gair Fair, where the Rathva community gathers to celebrate life with dance, music, and rituals. Witness their unique traditions and costumes.

Return to Jambughoda for the overnight stay.

Day 15:: Jambughoda-Ahmedabad (By surface approx. 180 Kms/04 Hrs) and Departure

After breakfast, drive to Ahmedabad airport to board the flight for onward journey.
