Early morning we will transfer to the railway station to board the train to Sawai Madhopur. Arriving in the afternoon, we will have time for check in, freshening up and lunch before we take our first jeep safari into the core area of the park later in the afternoon.

Ranthambore National Park and Tiger Reserve lies in the heart of the desert state of Rajasthan. Formerly the hunting grounds of the Maharaja of Jaipur, it became a National Park in 1972. Dry deciduous forests, lakes, meadows, mountains and forts combine to create a park of great beauty, which still has a healthy population of tigers. In this beautiful setting you can also see leopards, hyena, deer, sloth bear, wild boar and jungle cat.

Today we will take morning and afternoon jeep safaris in the park.

This morning we will have the opportunity for a quick jeep safari in the park before boarding the train to Bharatpur in the afternoon. On arrival in Bharatpur, we will check into the hotel for two nights. Later in the afternoon, we will go for birding in the sanctuary.

The pristine marshland of Bharatpur, now known as Keoladeo National Park, is a man-made avian paradise. Once the duck-hunting forest of the local maharajas, it was declared a sanctuary in 1956 and is the finest bird sanctuary in India, home to over 300 species of birds. The 29 square kilometres of swamp and lakes constitute one of the most important breeding and migratory areas in the world.

We will take a final birding trip in the sanctuary before proceeding to Agra visiting the deserted city of Fatehpur Sikri on the way. On arrival in Agra, we will proceed for a sightseeing tour of the city including Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. Later in the afternoon, we will board the overnight train to Umaria.

On arrival at Umaria this morning, we will transfer by road to our lodge in Bandhavgarh, which has been reserved for two nights.

We will take our morning and afternoon safaris to the core area of Bandhavgarh National Park.Set amidst the Vindhyan ranges and the eastern flank of the Satpura hills, Bandhavgarh National Park is one of the best places to see and enjoy wildlife in India. In fact, it has the highest relative density of tigers of any of India's reserves. This park was the former hunting preserve of the Maharaja of Rewa and at present is a famous natural hub for white tigers. The first sightings anywhere of these famous tigers were recorded in this area.

We will have the opportunity to take a final safari into the park before we proceed to Kanha later during the day. On arrival in Kanha, we will check into our resort for three nights.

Kanha National Park, situated in Madhya Pradesh, is spread over 1,945 square kilometres of dense Sal forest, interspersed with extensive meadows, grassy plateaus and areas of wild bamboo. This region is known as Kipling Country and it is where all his stories of the jungle were conceived.

We will drive to Jabalpur this morning in time to connect the overnight train to Delhi.

On arriving at Delhi this morning, we will transfer to the hotel for an overnight stay. Rest of the day is free for individual activities. A sightseeing tour of the city or a visit to the Okhla barrage for bird watching can be organized in the afternoon if you so desire.

We will transfer to the airport in time to connect the flight for our onward destination.
